Happy Sunday! I’m excited for today’s devotional: the first in our Praising God from A to Z series. Today I will be sharing five reasons to praise the Lord, all beginning with the letter A.
5 Reasons To Praise The Lord!
God is all-powerful or omnipotent. No matter what kind of a difficult situation we are dealing with, God can help us through it. Nothing is too difficult for God!
Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Author and Finisher of our faith
Jesus is the Author and Finisher or the beginning and the end of faith. He is our example that we are told to look to.
In times past, there was not always direct access to God, but Jesus came, and by shedding His blood on Calvary, provided access to God for each person who believes in Him.
Hebrews 10:19-23 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
And having an high priest over the house of God;
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Armor of God
There are fierce and frequent battles in the Christian life, but we have not been left without protection. We have been given a full suit of armor and a sword and shield to use in our battle with evil. All we need to do is put it on and keep it on.
Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we are no longer slaves to sin. Instead, we are adopted into the family of God!
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
We really do have a lot of reasons to praise the Lord, don’t we? Let’s take a minute right now to praise Him for Who He is and for some of the ways He has blessed us and cared for us.
