Kindness, Keeper, & King of Kings

Today we are looking at the kindness of God, who is our Keeper and the King of Kings.

God is our Keeper; He keeps watch over us, and cares for us. He protects us from danger as He sees best to do.

Psalm 121

A sunset

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

King of Kings

1 Timothy 6:14-16

That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Revelation 17:14

These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

king of kings

God is kind, and that kindness is shown through Jesus. When we look at Jesus’ ministry, we see Him going about doing good, being kind to those in need. He was kind to those that society looked down on. He was kind to the poor and the helpless. His example is one that we should all follow.

Ephesians 2:7

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

I hope you are blessed by these devotionals. Looking at the attributes of God gives us a fresh reminder of Who God is, of just Who it is that we serve. And He loves us!
